What Warren Buffett said… “Bonds are not the place to be”

March 1, 2021

Have you read Warren Buffett’s annual letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders? You can read it here. One key quote he had: “And bonds are not the place to be these days.” (page 5 of the PDF) We agree with Warren. If you are picking your own individual bonds in your portfolio, we recommend you reassess.

We recommend you look at bond funds that actively manage a diversified portfolio of bonds to be part of your income and preservation strategy. Our partners manage from 66-858 bonds in their portfolios. This allows the fund managers to diversify risk and make changes as they deem necessary. Our fund managers have 20 years average experience.

The other part of your conservative/income part of your investment allocation should be stock funds. I will leave this for a subsequent email newsletter.
