I happened to be reading one of my favorite columnists this weekend: Dan Neil. Dan writes the Rumble Seat column for the Wall Street Journal. This weekend Dan was reviewing the 2018 Honda Odyssey minivan. I love Dan’s wit, which for me, is more about Dan’s offbeat humor and social commentary than the cars he reviews. As Dan says in this minivan article, “For parents of young children, nothing beats a minivan. No vehicular helpmate is ever quite as there for you. Irrespective of your clinging to a previous automotive identity—the Jeep Wrangler permanently parked in the driveway, sad!—now that you are a parent, the functional advantages of a minivan are dispositive, starting with the magic of sliding side doors…” No wonder he’s won a Pulitzer!
Long term investing is like a minivan: it ain’t sexy! It’s practical and helps get you to your financial destination. We build investment portfolios that match your financial goal, your willingness to take risk, time frame and we act as your financial coach to keep you on track. If your investment team resembles Bud Fox and Gordon Gekko, maybe it’s time to get a second opinion.
By the way, I owned 2 minivans. Loved’em!
