My Take on the Presidential Election

I decided to wait until today to comment on the elections because, as is the case with most big world events, investment markets tend to get crazy and overreact the first few hours and days after an event and then stabilize. That is exactly what we got in the span of the three days post-election. Initial reaction was S&P 500 futures plummeting 4% in the late hours of Tuesday and wee hours of Wednesday to end the week up 3.80%. “Stick to the plan” is my motto, and I stick to it and I recommend you do, too!

Regarding the actual election, my take is people want change in Washington, DC . The best take I’ve heard on the election is, strangely enough, from Colin Cowherd, a sport radio host. I apologize that the quality of the video is not better, but I believe it is 5 minutes well spent.

I am a very proud 1st generation American who believes the USA is the best country in the world. And I thank the founding fathers for establishing the USA as a democratic republic with three branches of government that keep the each other in check. It isn’t perfect, but it is the best option available.
