A More Proactive Approach to Tax Planning

Sep 24, 2026 | Dental Insights

Tax planning is a year round conversation and we are always finding valuable ways to connect our clients with the best insights. Last week, we hosted another exclusive E2E Financial client webinar with Kate Willeford, from BakerTilly, focused on proactive tax planning strategies specifically for dentists. Kate shared several valuable ideas to help practice owners better understand their tax picture, identify potential opportunities, and make more informed financial decisions throughout the year.

Here are a few of the biggest takeaways:

1. Prioritize reviewing monthly profit/loss statements and balance sheets: As a practice owner, understanding your statements can help you make better decisions about spending, hiring, growth, and your personal financial plan.

2. The importance of your CPA and your CFP working together: We believe strongly in this collaborative approach. We work alongside our clients’ CPAs and other professionals so that everyone is working toward the same goals to best serve you.

3. Make sure you are receiving your tax projections: This gives you an estimate of where you stand before the year is over, giving you time to prepare and discuss potential strategies with your financial team. Ask your CPA when you should expect your tax projection and make sure your CFP is part of that conversation.

4. Why hiring an associate is beneficial: Hiring an associate is a major step for most practices but it creates many opportunities, such as, increasing practice capacity, supporting continued growth, and allowing the practice owner to focus on the business itself.

5. Implementing a 401k plan: The right plan can help you save more toward retirement, potentially reduce taxable income, and provide a valuable benefit to attract and retain employees.

Webinars like this are one of the many ways we continue to bring additional value to our clients beyond their regular financial planning meetings.

Throughout the year, we create opportunities for our clients to learn directly from professionals who understand the unique challenges dentists face. From educational webinars with dental industry experts to client events, resources, and ongoing conversations, our goal is to provide our clients with more than a financial plan.

If you’re a dentist and you’re not having these conversations with your financial team, it may be time to ask why.

At E2E Financial, we specialize in helping dentists bring all of the pieces together, from their practice and personal finances to investments, retirement, insurance, tax planning, and long-term goals.

If you’re not currently working with us and want to see what a more proactive approach to financial planning could look like, we’d love to start the conversation. Schedule a complimentary consultation.
