3 Tip$ for Dentists to Increase Collection$

Sep 10, 2026 | Dental Insights

What if a few simple changes could improve your collections in the next 3 months? For over 20 years, we’ve worked with dentists and seen firsthand what separates the practices that struggle from the ones that thrive, and the gap usually comes down to a few key habits.

These are proven strategies we have worked with practices on and seen success.

1. Hire Better: Make sure you have a solid hiring/onboarding process in place. The best practices don’t hire fast, they hire right. It starts with defining what success looks like in each role and making sure the person you bring in is the right fit for your team and your long-term vision.

2. Have a Morning Huddle: Run a tight 15-30 minute morning huddle prior to patients arriving. Review that day’s patients: referrals received, outstanding A/R, and outstanding treatment. When your team starts the day aligned, it makes it harder for things to slip through the cracks. We’ve seen this single habit alone drive meaningful improvement in month-end numbers.

3. Review Your Dental Practice Management Software: When’s the last time your team was trained on your software? Can you run reports that are genuinely helpful? Get trained and updates on the latest about your software and know how to best use it in your practice.

Your practice(s) is/are the engine that drives your financial success and we’re here to make sure it’s running at its best. Beyond investment management, we work with dentists on, financial coaching, and 401(k) plans, giving you a true partner who understands financials and dentistry. We’ve seen what works. Let us help you. We have a network of top consultants to help you once we see where additional help is needed.
